How to Build and Customize an AI Bot in Minutes

Leadoo’s AI Bot Builder is designed to take the heavy lifting off your hands. Whether you are building your very first conversational tool or expanding your current setup, you can now launch a fully functioning bot in just a few minutes.

Here is your step-by-step guide to building, editing, and fine-tuning your AI bot.

1. Getting Started: 3 Ways to Create a Bot

When you log into the Leadoo platform, navigate to Conversion Kit, and select Chatbots, click + Build new bot. You’ll see three ways to get started:

• Describe your bot idea (AI Bot Builder): Simply state your main goal and requirements, and let the AI generate a complete conversation flow for you.
• Use a template: Choose from a library of industry-specific or use-case-driven templates (e.g., Sales Assistant, Property Buyer Qualification, or Job Posting Assistant).
• Start from scratch: A completely blank canvas that is ideal for quick, simple pop-ups or short micro-surveys.

2. Filling Out the AI Setup Form

If you choose to generate a bot using AI, the platform will ask you a few quick questions to align with your objectives:

1. Main goal: Are you looking to acquire leads, provide support, or increase revenue?
2. Data to collect: What key details do you need from the user (e.g., Name, Email, Company name, Country)?
3. Language and Tone: Select the bot’s operating language and preferred communication style (e.g., Friendly, Professional, or Instructive).
4. Knowledge Base: Select a pre-scanned knowledge base from your website or documents so the AI understands your products, services, and brand guidelines.
5. Flow Complexity: Choose how many steps/nodes you want to include (e.g., Standard 10–20 nodes).

Once you click Generate Bot, the AI will draft the entire conversation architecture, node structure, and prompt logic in about 30 to 40 seconds.

3. Editing the Flow in the Visual Builder

After the bot is generated, click Go to editor to review and customize the structure.

Navigation Tip: Right-click and hold your mouse to pan around the canvas. Hold Alt (or Command on Mac) while scrolling your mouse wheel to zoom in and out smoothly.

You can drag and drop a wide range of interactive nodes from the left-hand menu directly into your flow:

• Single Choice / Multiple Choice: Buttons that guide visitors down personalized pathways based on their immediate needs.
• Dropdown: Perfect for long option lists, such as selecting a country or specific industry, keeping the chat interface clean.
• Openfield: Allows visitors to leave open-ended messages or describe specific challenges.
• Calendar: Connects directly to your sales team’s live Google or Outlook calendars, enabling visitors to book meetings instantly within the chat.
• Form: Collects multiple contact details at once when a structured form is preferred over a multi-step conversation.

4. Fine-Tuning Content with the AI Generator

If you want to rephrase messages, change the tone, or adjust prompt logic, you don’t need to rewrite each node manually.

Use the AI Generator tool on the left toolbar:

1. Choose whether to update the entire bot or specific selected nodes.
2. Provide your instructions (e.g., “Make the responses more concise, use bullet points, and emphasize our case studies”).
3. Let the AI rewrite the copy across your entire flow in seconds.

You can also use this tool to translate your entire bot into another language with a single click.

5. Styling, Previewing, and Launching

Your bot automatically inherits your overall brand styling through your global settings (or Brand DNA). If you want to customize the look for a specific campaign or landing page:

1. Go to Settings -> Style.
2. Click directly on any element in the live preview to adjust button colors, fonts, backgrounds, and positioning.
3. Use the Test your bot preview button to test the conversation flow.
4. Hit Save Changes, and your bot is ready to start converting website traffic!
